In my opinion California is the coolest state to visit because of its diversity in landscape, weather, people. California has the gorgeous yet harmless pacific ocean embracing it from the west side, and the slightly desert-landscape and weather(because its is next to Nevada and Arizona) in the east part. Northern California is more green because it close to Oregon in the north but the southern california mostly has tropical weather and landscape. Northern California is full of amazingly green pines whereas Southern California has more eucaliptus than pines. In a nutshell, the landscape and weather is different in each part of California. I dont think you'll get to see this diversity in any other state. And the people are amazing, and more amazing thing is their cohabitance. You will find every race and culture of the world, in California, and thery all live in peace. Now come to the cool spots. If you are into amusement parks then you dont wanna miss, Universal Studio, Disneyland, Seaworld and a lo-o-t of other big and small amusement parks. The most important cities are San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego etc and ofcourse, Sacremento is the capital. If you are into historic places then the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge is a must see. There are very top ranking, prestigous universities like Stanford, UC Berkley, USC....if you are interested to visit. There is a very important reaserch center in Pasadena, (the name I forgot) which deals with space shuttles, funded by NASA. One very important thing about California is that it is full of big and small lakes, and national parks. Big bear lake, Seqouia National Parks are most known. In Seqouia national park, you will find those trees which have been living for thousand/ two thousand years and they are humungus! California also have some islands which are part of it, one of them is Catalina island. This is like a fairytale island an people actually live there, and they commute with golf-carts! Nobody can die and nobody can be born in Catalina -- thats the rule. And last but not the least, if you are interesting in hot spots in cities, there are so many that you cant afford to miss. California is white americans, african americans, hispanics, swiss, jerman, indians, chinese, koreans, middle easterns, philipinoes, vietnamese,---you name it, California is like a melting pot! O and finally, California has Arnold Schwarzeneger, the governer who can beat the crap out of any other Governor(with his muscles!). He adds a lot to the charisma of Californai, I think. So if you are convinced to visit California, all I gotta say is "Welcome to California".

Michigan, THere is alot of really great things to see and do in Michigan, contrary to what everyone says, Detroit is a great place to be. There are always things going on in down town and we have Casinos and parks, if your into music you can visit where Motown began, we have a great couple of museums and theaters to visit. Ot you can head north to Mackinaw or Travers city ann visit up there. If you like shopping you could go to Birmingham and down town has really great shops to.

Start by heading south to your friendly neighboring state Oklahoma. Especially Northeastern Oklahoma, we've got lots of lakes and resorts with a whole bunch of fun and interesting things to do. My family and I love to tour around eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas to see what we will find.
Hope to see ya!!!

For variety, definitely California. You have deserts, beaches, mountain lakes, Hollywood and San Francisco. But for simple beauty and relaxation, without a doubt, Hawaii. LOVE IT!!

Texans seem to be really gung-ho about their state, so I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being most of your answers.
Btw, I'm NOT from Texas, but I know a lot of people from there...

Texas. We have many things to do in large cities or small, and our people are the friendliest anywhere. Plus, where else can you get an Armadillo pie?
