How and when did the Holy War began?

If the holy war you are talking about is the Crusades in medieval times than it began in 1063 after Pope Alexander the second allowed Iberian Christians to go into war with the Muslims that were inhabiting Jereusalem, Israel and preventing pilgrimages to the city.
Before the Pope declared this in 1009 Fatimid caliph al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah destroyed the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This act along with not permitting pilgrimage to Jeresalem will be know as the spark of the crusades. So if you look at it in a way both parties were responsible except Christians allowed an attack for a response.

The Christians started the "Holy War" in the Middle Ages. They were in the Dark Ages and were jealous of the advances and science of the Islamic Civilization. So they created falsehoods to get people to support a Holy War or Crusade. Its not unlike whats happening now if you think about it !

The Holy War is a name given to many wars to give them credibility
the most famous ones are:
1.the crusade in medieval:it has many dates for starting & many names too as it was repeated several times.The reason was that the heads of Europe wanted the wealth of east,but of course the poor wouldn't have fighted for the rich to make them richer,so the rich called it 'holy'to make it easier to start
2.the one ocurring now by G.W.Bush"for the same reasons which I mentioned and which I didn't mention"

Which holy war are you referring to?
Is it the one against the Jews? The Arabs did. Read Genesis 16:12 (Ishmael -The ishmaeliltes war against their brothers)
Is it the one against the Christians? Satan did. Read book of Acts
Is it the one against all Americans & the world? The Muslims did.
Read the Newspaper, it's happening now.
Is it the one against God? Satan and his demons did. Read Revelations.
