since teachers have summers off, winter breaks and most snow days off, is it really necessary to give them the same pay as most people who work 9-5? I am even going into the teaching profession for secondary education and I do not expect to get the same for more regular schedule career.

Anyway, I think truck drivers are underpaid. Company drivers get about .33 a mile while owner operators get about 1.25 a mile. They have to pay for their own fuel, repairs, tolls. They work odd hours and expect to make it to their destination on time. They are working in snowstorms, hurricanes, whatever comes their way just to get the goods there on time so we as consumers can buy it. With the price of diesel going up, their cents per mile hasn't increased at all.

i think of that instructors and police are way underpaid. i've got self assurance that the folk who kill themselves common interior the sizzling warmth each and every f*cking day until they are too previous to do it anymore are underpaid. Overpaid?? it is consumer-friendly. Celebrities, attorneys, massive organisation CEO's the record is going on and on.. no one earns that a lot funds, no one. Oh and a extensive proportion of actual expertise is became down because of the fact they don't have the connections... Its a good purchase greater approximately being interior the surprising place on the surprising time for celebs.. thank you.

Teachers, definitely! Everyone thinks they have a cushy job with 6 hour school days and summers off.

What folks don't know is that teachers spend easily as much time grading assignments, lesson preparation, and dealing with unreasonable parents as they do in the classroom. When I taught school I would have to be up at 4:30 in the morning to get to school by 6:30 to make preparations for the day. I was lucky to get home before 6 in the evening--it was usually later-- which allowed me roughly 3 hours to myself before going to bed and starting the whole thing over.

In spite of it all, I loved teaching, but my health was shot so I had to quit.

I'd go with the teaching profession, considering their efforts in trying to give an all-round good education to students & to meet up every individual needs.
Although I don't think it applies to the teaching community in my country, where the teachers draw a good paycheck but still wanting more benefits.
That & the fact they lack the passion for their work & as a result abuse the students... literally, very sad.

Teachers are the most underpaid... I'm a teacher and I can earn more selling hot dogs than teaching.

public servants. I know servants is probably the wrong term but people like soldiers, cops, EMS/paramedics, firefighters, teachers etc. These are the ones risking more than anyone else and are always at the bottom of the salary ladder and always the first to receive cutbacks from the good 'ol politicians.

flun11...
soldiers want the job they are doing. they signed up for it. they knew what they were getting themselves into. i agree with all they do, but the FACTS remain the same. they chose the military. if they didn't want to die for our country they would have never JOINED.
not in this country, anyway.

cops wanted the job, too. they know that people hate cops and want to see them dead. their choice. their decission. cops know that they aren't trusted, so why would a trustworthy person become a cop? they WOULDN'T!!

PARENTS are the most underpaid PROFESSION.
real parents - like the ones flun 11 doens't have.

Teachers...for the effort they are making to connect with so many students every day and make them open up to what they have to teach. If you think of it, besides parents, teachers spend the longest time with the kids and students in general.
They have to find the common language everyone in the room understands. And that's not always easy.Look at the younger generations and how tempted they are to think about everything but school...

Teachers - I mean good teachers. And the people that clean offices, I mean really clean up the nasty stuff. Has anyone thought about the health risks of breathing other people's waste and making contact with bacteria. Think about it!
