Let that coworker know. Pull that person on the side and say, "look I don't mean to hurt your feelings but you have a body order. I'm telling you this so you could do something about it. Is there something that I can do to help you feel more comfortable about the situation?" Say something like that if they don't listen then report it to the manager and let them know that you all cannot work in that type of environment - it's affecting the outcome of your work. Now make sure more than you feel this way when you go to the manager because he might let you go. But if all of you all go then it will make a difference.

ya know how people slap someone on the back congratulating them?? but your really sealing the note with the words " KICK ME" written on it with a peice of tape??
Do that with an air freshener.
I knew a friend who had the same problem, and her office got some money together and got the girl some body spray, deodorant and other smell good hygiene products. she started crying and left the office with the basket and never came back. She was very upset.
I just dont know....maybe you could say something without directing it to them...like when in the break room or other common area, say " do yall smell that??" if that person is concious about it there gonna do something to fix the problem so no one discovers its them....
or...does the person know about the problem? or are they completly oblivious?

That's tough because it may be something your co-worker can't control. Maybe you can do something to surround yourself in a good aroma (like have air freshener to spray) or something like that...
Or, you could take the evil approach and make a game out of it. Have each person guess what type of garbage he will smell like today. Winner gets a free drink/ lunch. Guess how many times you'll hear him (or smell him!) pass gas - closest guess wins... This way you'll actually look forward to his grossness...

I would politely leave him a little letter explaining the problem and letting him know that i am willing to help if he needs it (as far as supplies and stuff) then assure him that the letter was strictly between the two of you so he doesnt feel embarrassed. If that doesnt work just put a air freshener thingy at your desk to avoid his smell (i had to do that once for a guy with stinky feet)...good luck with the stinker!

If all of the co-workers feels the same way, then draw up a partition with everyone signature. Also do not make this person feels that he is entertaining. This is not funny.
In the military, we would force him into a shower to a bar-of-soap in-a-sock party.

I would leave an anonymous note at his desk telling him that those who work around him have a problem with his scent...If you don't have the guts to do that, try telling HR and having them discuss the problem with him. It's not something you should have to put up with because it is detrimental to the work environment. I used to work the night shift at a call center. I shared a computer with a guy who worked day shift.... I swear to God, he would always pick his nose and leave his buggers lying around the computer. I would lift up the keyboard and it would be like lifting up a big rock in your yard.....

go to a manager or a supervisor and make them aware of the problem...if you dont want them to know that your speaking to the manager or supervisor about it then dont let it be known....but you really need to speak to someone about it because thats nasty and no one wants to be around that especially at work...i have the same problem with a co worker of mine...except she just smells because she dont bath and i make it a point to say something...its not a pleasure to be around and you dont have to put up with it...there has to be a code of conduct in your office...good luck

do him like they did ole yeller... naw i would tell him that it's not nice to pass gas in the office area and that you come to work and not to smell his shiznit. the whole personal hygiene thing well that's more personal and i think it would be rude if you told him that he smelled.

Tell the manager...if you are the manager, talk to the employee and tell them that they have to come to work clean so it doesn't distract everyone.
