Basic troubleshooting tip.
1. Make sure the speakers are working.
Hook the speaker up to another source like a CD Player and verify the speakers are working.
2. Make sure the speakers are connected to the Sound Out or Speaker 1/8 stereo jack.
3. Play an mp3 file with Windows Media Player or any other media player that shows "audio spectrum view" and see that it's playing.
If you have problems during playback go to your Device Manager and see that there aren't any "!" or "?" marks in your device manager and verify that your sound card is working properly.
If you see a problem in the device manager try reinstalling your driver again.
4. Double check your volume settings, in your system, in the application you're using.
If you have gone through these steps and you have verified everything is okay but you still don't get sound then you may have a hardware problem and may need to disable (if integrated) or uninstall (if not integrated) the sound card.

I had the same problem. Everything was working fine and even the diagnostic test said that everything was okay. Finally I figured out that it was on digital. Turn the digital off and see if that works. Hope it's that and not something worse.

Go to my computer and right click, select "manage", in the left pane select "device manager", in the right pane select "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers". Expand the selection and right click on the sound drivers and un-install them, then reboot your computer.
