With the votes up for when/if to pull out of Iraq today (which despite my misgivings will fail miserably IMO), what about Korea? Even the god-forsaken media has taken an interest in this. (No offense to media members here) But we've heard nothing about North Korea and their touted ability to shoot missiles at us now.

If you were in the government what would you do in response to North Korea?

And yes, everyone will find "Nuke them" very funny, but let's try to avoid answers like that.

I have been living in South Korea now for about 3 years and it is strange because North Korea seems only a threat to the United States. At the moment North Koreans (buk-han, in Korean) are suffer from a lack of food and I believe a low birth rate. It is also common practice within Korean culture for the men to postulate themselves and act tougher than they really are.

I think that if we talk more and have a lot more of the bi-lateral talk with China, and Japan as well as massage the ego the Dear Leader I am sure that nothing much will happen.

Charging in like what happened in Iraq, will only breed more war. The Korean issue is one that take some time and it will be diplomacy that wins in the end.

I would shoot the missile out of the sky, but it's painfully obvious that their just following Iran's lead in threaten with nuclear ambition to get better incentive package.

I'm going to avoid the obvious "Nuke them" answer, and simply say that I would blow the living hell out of that missile and silo with a carefully placed trident missile fired from one of our subs in the area. We can't allow them to test and utilize missiles that can reach our West Coast states- we need to destroy the thing before they have a chance to fire it.

I do what the governement is doing. Put alot of talk out there, and say that I'm going to fire a missle at the their missle if they shoot it, and it comes near the USA... I think the government is handling it correctly

Walk softly and carry a big stick.

Keep working diplomacy to the extent that we and others can (e.g. Russia, China, japan, etc.)

Make it VERY clear to the Koreans that if they get stupid (e.g. launch against anybody), we will bomb them back to the stone age. Start with where Kim Jong lives.
