To answer your question...No. I don't know anyone who would rent to section 8....although there should be many places available in Tampa. Check to see if the system has a list of available section 8 homes.

Isn't that a big voucher for the government to pay towards someones rent each month? I mean...that doesn't sound like assistance to me. It sounds more like full blown paying full rent. I don't think that motivates a person to be self dependant. I pay about $1,100 a month for a nice Florida home, but I work my tail off until there's no time left for rest or play. It's the only responsible way to be able to afford it. Must be nice to just have rent money like that just handed to you.

I suggest you check the house for rent ads and then ask the person if they would be willing to apply to be a section 8 landlord. The advantage is the rent gets paid on time every month. $1000 isn't much for a house rental in Tampa. I suggest you look at Brandon or Riverview

There are plenty of section 8 housing in tampa look in the paper and also contact the Hillsborough county housing department for more information.
