Get a hobbie. Make new friends. Do what you did before you met him. Don't waste so much time on him. By all means, move on. Who's to say that you might not meet someone better tomorrow?

that's really hard, especially if you really loved him... but i believe, your friends (NOT YOUR PARENTS!!) will be your life-saver at this point in time. yes, your parents love you and they are ready to help you. but since they are your "parents", they tend to criticize your situation. and that's not what you want right now, don't you?
go out with your friends and have fun. keeping yourself busy and new acquaintances would aid you greatly in dealing with your dilemma.
this may take some time to heal. but you need to start somewhere. and having fun with your friends (in my opinion) is the best first step you will be making.
just remember this old quote... "if you love someone, set it free. if it comes back, it is yours... but if not, it never was". =) good luck!
