Try a sales job. Most sales jobs allow for very flexible hours and control over your own schedule. Usually you go into the office once or twice a week, and you spend your other days with customers. Another idea is massage therapy. My sister is going to school for it right now. It's not a long process and you can work for yourself or in a spa somewhere.

Have you ever thought about going into business for yourself?
Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind...what's your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?
By researching the prospect of starting your own business -- what it entails, what you need to know, helpful hints, etc -- you'll feel better prepared to take that plunge.
I found some book titles that are relevant to your specific question:
* 101 Internet Businesses You Can Start from Home by Susan Sweeney
* The Best Home Businesses for the 21st Century by Paul Edwards
* Selling Online: How to Become a Successful E-Commerce Merchant by Jim Carroll

I also posted some article links in the source box.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

stay the hell away from post secondary education schools. you don't like corporate environments, this ones even worse. trust me. Much like you I despise corporate life. the delays in communication, idiot supervisors, and the whole "office politics" thing drove me *****ing nuts. couldn't stand that crap. Anyhoo, I work now as a loan officer for mortgage company. it's a corporate entity but each branch is a franchise so you're working for someone not corporate, but for a corporation if you follow me. The atmosphere here, even though it's essentially corporate, is SOOOOOOOOO relaxing and so laid back. deadlines and time constraints are a given but find me a decent job that doesn't have them. People are friendly hours kind of suck but then again you only really work 4-5 hours a day anyways. try looking into a branch near you. I love it here. and you'll have to be comfortable with working commission only too. it's a subprime broker so you deal with people in trouble, on their last legs even losing their house. so you're function is to help these people out while making a decent buck too.

Any Real Estate job is good since most of these people are working in their own hours. May it be a broker, a realtor, a loan agent, escrow officer, an appraiser or account executives for lenders, they have flexible hours usually and best thing is you deal with people, everyday people and you get to talk to them on their specific needs as well as their background as well. As one of the person here also mentioned some companies have their employees as commision based but some work with basic pay and commision as well. Good thing about it is you get compensated for the amount of work you've put in that's for sure. Good Luck!

Non-profits in Membership or Fundraising and Development will definitely get you in touch with people. How about working for a corporate company's foundation? You could get the benefits of working for a major company but the ability to work worthy causes.

You might wish to take a personality test to help you determine the right job for you. What may be a great job for one will not necessarily be great for another. There are many jobs that do not involve work with the corporate sector

You'd have to go back to school, but you could get a doctorate in audiology. If you don't mind looking at people's ears all day, of course! You get to work with a variety of people, and it's rewarding to see improvements in their quality of life after they get hearing aids or whatever other help they need.

Depending on your interest, fields may be legal, support groups (admin, HR, marketing, sales) for any product company or an IT organization could be best bet.
Joining IT industry is particularly good, if you have interest in going back to school.
