Dark Side of the Moon - It's a complex, often psychedelic music works very well because Pink Floyd doesn't rush anything; the songs are mainly slow to mid-tempo, with attention paid throughout to musical texture and mood. The sound effects on songs like "On the Run," "Time" and especially "Money" (with sampled sounds of clinking coins and cash registers turned into rhythmic accompaniment) are impressive, especially when we remember that 1973 was before the advent of digital recording techniques.

The Wall sucks, and is their worst album....Dark Side of the Moon and Piper at the Gates of Dawn are a close tie for me, each showing different styles of Pink Floyd.

well, i like relics, i know it's a compilation, but it has songs from a period of floyd i really like. i mean, come on, arnold layne, see emily play, bike, and careful with that ax eugene on one album.
however, i like piper at the gates of dawn, but i think i'd have to say wish you were here or dark side of the moon is their best. call me weird, but i never really cared for the wall other than young lust and comfortably numb.

Its gotta be The Wall. I actually went out to buy it today, but Tower Records didn't have it. Instead I bought Emerson, Lake and Palmer - the one with Lucky Man.

I sort of like it, it rather is ridiculously self indulgent yet 'Grantchester Meadows' is super and the element with the Scottish guy and the squeaky animals is f*cked up yet constantly makes me snicker yet joking aside the stay album is actual very stable.
