But, there is no understanding towards the fact as to why you're just asking a specific number i.e. 17,000 people and not just everyone in general? Probably making mistakes and the fear of accepting rather than being alone in the dark. Could be a number of other frightening things, but this is just one of the reasons as to what makes 17,000 people afraid.
