I am a teacher and I have noticed that it seems that there are not a lot of people around these days for kids to look up to who are in the public eye, I would like to say that kids look up to people close to them but in todays world that isn't a reality. So who do you think is good for teens to look up to?

I thought of Hillary Duff as well..but as you said her recent weight loss has really made me not so keen on her and the same with Kelly Clarkson; I really like her but she has lost a ton of weight to "fit in".

a good role model should be "PARENTS" just look at what some of them are doing to keep a roof over your head and food in ur mouth at no cost...............that's what i call heroism ...it shows determination and love for those around them...but some not all singers and actors are also well suited role-models

Definitely Hilary Duff, who sings songs about believing in yourself and being true to who you are. Young people -- boys and girls -- need that sort of thing (and actually, many **adults** could use that too!). Kelly Clarkson is another. Oprah Winfrey is a great humanitarian and someone who strives to make the world a better place. Lance Armstrong overcame many obstacles that would've stopped many people and went on to great success. Madonna deserves credit for being successful, smart, talented, lasting, and never compromising her artistic vision to achieve her goals. She always believed in herself when no one else did and she made a great success of her life.

hmm. i would say Bethany Hamilton. she's i think 15. && she encountered a shark attack when she was 13 in Hawaii. she is now back on the board and competing. what she went through is what a soul surfer would. her courage to get back on the board after being attacked is amazing. her story is about faith, and courage of a young girl. it's quite amazing really.

Lizzie McGuire.
Although she's fictional, she is a good kid, but not a goody two shoes. She has fun, gets in trouble, loves her brother (hates her brother), tries to get good grades and is altogether a pretty neat kid.
