If you know that the summons is really for you, don't ignore it. Only the court gets away with playing with technicalities.
However, be sure to correct the spelling so that you get credit for showing up and following whatever orders they give to you.

I'm assuming your question is if you have to respond to a court summons that was intended for and delivered to you, even if they don't have your name spelled right. While I don't know the specific legal answer, I would say that a judge has wide ranges of power when it comes to his courtroom. It's obvious that it was meant for you, and while technically, might not be 100%, at best they would just reissue it in the correct name. Worst case scenario, they have the police pick you up and bring you into court, and the judge holds you in contempt. I know there are repurcussions for ignoring a summonse, and I'm he would likely apply those as well.
Technically they are looking for that exact person as spelled, but realistically, they'd say it was meant for you, and expect you to respond. If you didn't, I'd say it's likely you'd face legal issues. If you decided to fight it, I'd hire a lawyer to keep the legal stuff straight, but once it was straight, they'd just reissue it in your correct name.

Do you know that they mean you? Then you gotta go. Now, if your name is Jim Jones, and the summons was sent to Jessie James, then maybe you can get away with it. But otherwise, if you know that it means you, the court has given you notice that you're required to do something. Do it!

legally don't have to attend-- practically if court issued (ie warrant) then show.... but if an attorney issued for you to be a witness in his case ( and did not include a check for witness fees- required in CA) then don't show .... unless you want to
