Who should sign the recipt?

Me and a friend go to hollywood videos and use his account to rent a movie but we pay with my credit card.

If you're signing a credit card slip, legally, you must sign it. If Hollywood Videos requires some sort of signature regarding the movies, your friend should sign.

Whoever's Credit Card is the one who signs the Reciept. If someone else does, and they are not an authorized signer, then the credit card company might kick it back as fraud. If it is his account, then he is liable for any late fees charged for the movie.
