because people are told they aren't real, so they don't believe in them.... but where would the idea of them have come from if they weren't once walking (or flying) on this realm? We had good story tellers of old, but how would creatures such as those have lasted through eons of time if they didn't once affect people so much in the physical world that they were passed on and on through generations. Take a look at many of the animals and insects we have today... don't they look just like what dragons and unicorns and faeries would have been like? evolution just narrowed down what was needed to survive... I mean... look at the dinosaurs... just because people in this world never saw them, they were a 'myth' until the first set of remains were found... maybe we're just not looking in the right places... perhaps they are all laid to rest in the ground that has now become the deepest part of this age's oceans?
I say, if you believe in them, keep believing in them... there's nothing wrong with that. Don't you remember the stories from childhood... that only those who believed could see them? I'm with you on your belief... just because there's no proof doesn't mean they didn't once roam... they were here... they left thier marks and imprints on our world, and when they felt their task was done, they faded away into our history. Never loose your belief in what you feel is right... sometimes the mass public is wrong and afraid to admit it.
They were real, perhaps still are, and perhaps they just choose not to be seen... don't humans do that as well?

Who do you think came up with the unicorn idea. Dragons and such mythical creatures? Because they were once here before they went extinct. But people had seen them so they are locked in our cell memory. Subconsious some might say. And on the other side (you probably call it heaven) they are there, so you remember them from there, when you came back there , before you were reincarnated into this life. Just like the fae, they are real too, go to ireland and scotland they are there in plain sight. And just about any of the natives will tell you the same thing.

The truth of the matter is that people choose not to percieve them. In actuality they might be all over the place with any number of other creatures people don't believe in.
When you accept or deny something, you are making your own reality. If you feel that Unicorns exist, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. There's alot of things that are "real" that no one's ever seen but believe in. Some people have never seen the Statue of Liberty but believe it exists over a Unicorn; Honestly, what sounds more absurd: a horse that developed a horn, possibly for defense, or a MASSIVE hunk or copper that was shaped in the form of a person and sits many many stories tall?
Really, Unicorns seem more realistic than the Statue of Liberty but people believe in the latter; it's ridiculous.

I'm actually not sure what the reason is but I myself have experience believing in things that most do not. For example, I believe in the literal and current existence of dragons. I was a philosophy major for a few semesters but got really tired of hearing about how unicorns supposedly do not exist. I switched out of the major and this was one of the main reasons I did so. I believe that we cannot be certain that something does not exist and that people have a right to believe in anything they want. I remember my metaphysics professor essentially saying that since there is no evidence for the existence of unicorns then we have to conclude that they do not exist. The problem is that this argument commits the appeal to ignorance fallacy and I find it strange that a philosophy professor would make a logically fallacious argument, especially one who teaches many of the department's logic classes as the professor I had for metaphysics does. The bottom line is that people have the right to believe in anything they want so keep believing in what you believe in.

If you believe in evolution, it would be difficult to say that the Unicorn never existed. The horn on the unicorn would have been a fighting instrument, no different than that of a Rhinoceros. Over time it may have no longer been used and eventually stopped growing. I heard once that the Pekingese, at one time, was a 300# war dog in ancient China. If there's any truth to that story, than why not the Unicorn!

Well some people let a pesky little thing called reality dictate how they will live their lives. I don't understand why it's so hard for the general public to believe in trolls, fairies and unicorns either. I mean just because they are only FOUND in fairey tales and scientists and the world at large says they don't exsist, doesn't mean you should not believe in it. I mean come on if we stop believing in Unicorns and mermaids then what will go next??? The Easter BUNNY!!!!
Where will this insanity end?? Where are the Peter Pans of the world..............
Oh wait ..........I forgot..........they grew up. And you need to grow up too sweetie. But I'll tell you a secret. I still take my nieces out to look under mushrooms for fairey's. And I still hope to one day see one.

Im atheist yet i'm going to talk for all religious human beings here. that's because of the fact they take place to be born in a definite region, right into a definite kinfolk, only by twist of destiny, that take place to brainwash them at an fairly youthful age. Which makes it very complicated (even once you're given a lot of rational motives of why there is not any god) for religious human beings to settle for that there mom and dad have been incorrect and it's time to start using some elementary experience. additionally some religious particularly everyone seems to be in order that closed minded that they decline to even discover out approximately evolution and different rational motives that designate our existence with a lot of evidence. it is basically truly consumer-friendly to assert god did it, to unquestionably comprehend the actual clarification takes some interpreting, thinking, and reasoning. it is a damn shame greater human beings don't get knowledgeable approximately it because of the fact the tale of evolution is a techniques greater beautiful than the tale of god.

Don't listen to those people.. their idiots.. I believe in them too even though I never seen one before. To all those people why don't you ask them what they believe in? Cause I can tell you they have never seen what they believe in either. I had a dream 2 weeks ago.. about wolfes chaseing me..in a deep dark forest and all of a sudden this light came down.. and a rainbow unicorn came down to rescue me.. I don't know what it meant but it was the most beautiful unicorn I've ever seen...people believe in many different things.. sometimes not all people believe in what you and I do. I don't have a good answer for that really. Maybe they don't like horses to begin with so their for they don't like unicorns.. good luck!

Because they let what they think of as reality get in the way. I believe in the possibility of mythical beings and I believe that they all exist- whether in this world or another. Most humans aren't very open-minded about these things anymore and they let science tell them what's true and what's not true. It's good that you're still a believer, we need more people like us in this world.

Because if people can't see something then they don't believe it is true. Except when it comes to God, then they believe and have faith that he exists.
I say if you believe in it then keep on believing. Unicorns, Fairies, and ogres, what ever you believe, you are not the only one they have been written about for centuries. If they did not exist then why so much written on them
And remember people thought dragons where a myth also, but they just recently found remains of dragons, and have proof they were real.
