Way better. Just look at this: I think that there was only one person that won the Indy car championship and then won the Formula 1 Drivers' Title (Jacques Villeneuve: IndyCar in 1995 and F1 in 1997, after Michael Schumacher's disqualification). There are some pilots that won the Drivers' Championship in F1 and then went on to IndyCar and won there, but there are only 2, I guess: Mario Andretti and Nigel Mansell. There are some more drivers that won in IndyCar and then came to Formula 1: Juan Pablo Montoya, won the IndyCar in 1999 or something like that and in 2001 he was driving for Williams in F1; Cristiano da Matta won the IndyCar in 2001, then he came into F1 and sucked. After 2 seasons, I think he returned to IndyCar.
So, except maybe for a single driver, who had his moment of glory in F1 after winning in Indy, all the drivers that won the Drivers' Title in F1 were purely F1 pilots. So that is a proof that F1 drivers are better than IndyCar drivers.
Plus, F1 drivers only run on an oval course for about a quarter of the distance of a single race during the course of a 18-race season. (Turns 12, 13 and the Start-Finish section of the Indianapolis circuit are located on the oval. The rest of the track is a twisty, 11-turn section located inside the oval. Turn 13 was the cause for the Michelin boycott last year that caused the American GP to be run by only 6 cars.) IndyCar drivers run on the ovals for half the season. You need way more skill to race around a normal course then for an oval. That's why my choice is for the Formula 1 drivers.

Hard to say, not many F1 drivers compete here, except Fitipaldi and Nigel mansell ( who both won the F1 championship and the Indy car series) the F1 drivers tend to be younger, but are supported by teams with lots of experience. The tracks in the USA are vastly different from European tracks, so it is hard to make any comparison. It is like saying, can a NASCAR guy compete with a motorcycle racer. You have to be able to understand the differences before you can make a comparison.

There was a time when overall this was not true. In modern times, with the split between the IRL and Champ Car diluting the available talent, the drives in F1 would have to be considered to the absolute cream of the crop. The sophistication of the F1 cars compared to the other series is also a huge factor. There ARE some drivers in the US based series who could make the leap to F1, but those guys you could count on one hand.

I believe that the F1 drivers are the Top Guns of the racing world. This is because of the enormous amounts of money that manufacturers and sponsors pour into this sport. Not to mention the venues at which the teams runs their cars. If you look back in history you'll see that not all drivers from the US ranks in CART or IRL have survived in F1. Michael Andretti didn't make it, Jacques Villeneuve has had less than a brilliant career like his father did. But then you look at what Nigel Mansell did in his first season with Newman-Haas back in 1993, he took both rookie of the year and the CART championship. So in my opinion it takes a special and extremely gifted individual to meet the demands of this level of competition.

Definitely. Formula 1 is the best form of motorsports. The name only suggests that it is the Numero Uno sport. Most Indy drivers keep driving around oval tracks and are not experienced to handle fast tracks like Sepang, Silverstone or street tracks like Monaco or Albert Park (Australia). I vote for F1 drivers. They are the best.

Definately! It is a lot easier to drive round and round continiously on an oval track than it is on a street circuit. It is also harder to overtake on the F1 circuits as they aren't as wide as the oval's are so it takes more skill to be able to do it safely.

Are you joking me?
Look at what happens to ppl when they go from here to over there. They get spanked!
Look at what happens when they come over here -- they kick a$$
Justin Wilson for example: sucked in F1. doing pretty well over here.
