You can all go to Wikipedia and do a little research on the term "White Person." The first thing you will notice is that the first people that were labeled as White were from Northest Asia. Nextly you will notice that the term was not entered into the dictionary as a demographic until around 1930.

After this you will notice that Benjamin Franklin only included English and North Germans as White in his 1751 essay. It was not until the 1820's that German immigrants became known as white's and only in the twentieth century that Italians, Greeks, and Eastern Europeans became eligible for membership into the white race in America.

That's right I said membership. See United States v. Bhagat Singh Thind, who went to court to have his race included in the category and he was denied. Jews were not considered white unitl the 1940's.

If all White people hated Black people and you wanted to be considered White, you would obviously have to prove your allegiance by hating Black people. It is clearly not slavery because slaves have been in existence since the Greeks who consider any person that we not Greek as a candidate for slavery. This is how the hatred came into existence but now with generation X and Y we are erradicating racism and hatred. I am very optimistic about the future.

The media and Ebonics. All black people are portrayed as criminals. Rap doesn't help either. Rap portrays blacks as being chauvinistic and materialistic. Ebonics creates a language barrier that many whites do not want to cross. Snoop Dogg going out of his way to butcher the English language makes old white people think black people have no respect for education.

People don't like people who are not like themselves, in general. This is not really just a race issue, but clique's...
I've met just about every kind of race that didn't like just about every kind of race. The more time spent together, the different types of people understand each other. That's why it takes so long to adapt. And also, like JazzyJB explained, white is so broad of a term.

nothing is wrong.. people make it that there is something wrong.. the reason why some white people hated black is because, black african people was brought here by white people to be slaves and they thought that slavery of black would be long forever, but they thought wrong. And they carried that mentality from generation to generation. Insecurity and supremacy are the reasons of hatred towards different color race.

Hateful white people obviously don't feel too good about themselves. Otherwise, they would not create boundaries such as race and make judgments in their favor such as white is good and black is bad. It's all good! Some people just aren't "happy" unless they're focusing hate on somebody for a really stupid reason.

Some people think the darker you are, the lower in class you belong. Or the darker you are, the dirtier you are. Or the poorer you are.

Some people are racist or prejudiced against others. It's not just a "white" thing. These are the kind of people you don't need to associate with.

I will never EVER understand it either. Why try. I feel if you understand something like that you understand their ways, thoughts and actions. How scary would that be? So be thank full you don't understand it.
