Not always. It just depends. I met my husband in chat over 10 years ago, and obviously I trusted him. You can usually tell after a few convos if a person is "real" or not.

No, not at all. People feel free to make up anything they want online. They can pretend to be anybody they choose, they can make up an entire fantacy life which does not reflect who they really are at all. While there are those who do not do this, I can not tell which ones they are so I just basically avoid those chat rooms. I do not feel comfortable with illusions. There is so much more to do online than chat rooms. Good luck to you.

Online or in-person? Online probably I wouldn't unless it is someone I grew to know and trust. In-person I would trust what they say, especially when I know them!

I never trusted what people said. But it all depends on what chat you are on. If you are on Whyville, never trust them.

No I don't, there are too many preditors out there. Never give your real name or where you live, your life could depend on your silence. Not enough information is the best thing these days. Be careful, be very careful okay?

Not all the time- you have to pick and choose what you think is right online. Some people are out there to help, and alot of people are definitely NOT. Watch out!
