I mean if I report abuse and the person is really using inflamitory language why is it allowed to continue? I sometimes think that Yahoo discriminates against us personally or maybe they are just really lazy about pursuing abuse over the entire yahoo answers.

Chris that is what I mean I think if the abuse is reported against a GLBT it is snatched up and immediate steps are taken and if it is against someone attacking us it is ignored

Geraldine I apologize if I get offended by questions and fire back heated remarks but I try to only report people who are asking obviously insulting questions such as "Does both your daddy's know you are gay." I do remember your friends question and I am not the one that reported her.

Randy - just maybe they can't cope (promptly) with the amount of abuse being reported to them, across all categories.

There've been a few questions from trolls, I've sought to answer today, that have been removed by the time I got to the Submit button.

We could all make a concerted effort simply not to answer such provocative questions (although I suspect that wouldn't be sustained)

Also, I think it's good etiquette (I've seen others do it) to post a response which says simply Reported - that way others will know not to do likewise. Of course, in doing so you do lose the anonymity - But I reckon if we can talk about our sexual preferences on this forum, we can be honest enough to admit when we're defending them.

In this way, perhaps Yahoo! Answers will find the reports of Abuse a little easier to handle.

Anyone else got any ideas on how we can help Y!Answers with this?

You reported me, a lesbian, for asking 'what would happen if gays and lesbians were wiped off the face of the earth'.

I realized I should have worded the question more like, 'what if gays and lesbians didn't exist'?

I meant nothing derogitory in my question, but you internalized it as gay-bashing and reported me, a lesbian, for inciting hate and violence (toward my own community). I was shocked at first, but now I see where you were coming from.

The question was taken out of the forum after you reported it, and I am sorry I worded it like I did. Completely my bad!

But still, I see old questions with really nasty, hateful words in them and they're still open for answers.
Go figger!
