well, apart from the answer "coz i said so.." and etc, why do you think your team should win..and what are their chances, referring to their perfomances NOW in the world cup, not by ranking, or star players and etc..?

So far, the Spaniards have done exceptionally good. I truly think they've shown a unique tour-de-force throughout the 1st round. I think they'll win this World Cup.
I've, however, rooted for England & Holand to win. They've always been my favourite teams.

For 32 year's Australia's been out of the running for the World Cup, and for that reason, the game hasn't really taken off in the country that has sport in it's heart. Now finally, we have a chance to change that and make the World Game one of our games too.

Ranking-wise, we're 42nd (Which, being the Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything, i'm sure is also very lucky), but that doesn't say much anyway since this is practically our first time playing internationally. Performance-wise we've been doing fairly well, managing not to get creamed by Brazil and holding Japan off at a 3-1 win in our first World Cup match ever. Bascially our coach Guus Hiddink (who's guided quite a few international teams to glory) and the team are taking it one match at a time.

But really, wouldn't it be fantastic for an underdog and unexpected country, like Ghana or Ecuador or Australia, to play some brilliant football and see it through to the end? At the end of the day, it's an open playing field for anyone who's good and consistent enough to take it. And Australia certainly is.

(Hmm...deciding match in 2 hours with Croatia.)

Brasil and the US are the teams that my wife and I support..I am American and She is Brazilian...but I will be blunt...

Brasil, for the powerhouse that they are, have left their natives grumbling...yes they'll advance...but not because they overpowered their teams by large numbers...you expect them to win by 3-4 goals per game and that hasn't happened...just because we WANT brasil to win..if you don't give 100% you don't get 100%..to this point Brasil hasn't been matched well enough they just have good enough individual talent in order to continue...that is what separates the USA team from Brasil...USA must play as a team if they have a dream of advancing...which they won't ...whereas Brasil can still win on individual talent...but if Brasil doesn't get their act together..they will fall as well...

Brasil has AMAZING potential..but they must forget themselves and focus on the team effort and their individual stats WILL happen...they're FAR too talented...but..if they play individually where Argentina, Germany, Netherlands and others play as a team....then Brasil will lose.

As for our Americans...at no point SHOULD 1 goal in 3 games get you through your group...I don't care how many "own goals" by their opponents they get...that should never be enough...The US is a good team but they have very little heart..they KNEW they had to give it their all and they HAD to win...they were at best mediocre...nothing taken from Ghana or the few players for the US that REALLY did give it their all. Donovan is OVERRATED as is Reyna...McBride, Johnson, and especially Dempsey played their hearts out...but Bruce Arena needs to hang out with NFL headcoaches and MLB managers and learn how to say...Donovan you need to sit your butt down..you are providing NOTHING!

other than i said so it also repersents the idea of nationalism people want their country to win or some people perfer other teams from different countries probally by race, religon, etnicity, etc. good teams do count but the FIFA WORLD CUP IS ALL ABOUT NATIONAL PRIDE there is also a good article writen about the FIFA WORLD CUP in the National Geographic magazine, it gives us the reason why so many people are crazy about the world cup.

mexico should win becuase i said so and becuase they have worked a lot to get into 1 of the top teams. They have a real good team and have important players like Oswaldo Sanchez, probably one of the top goalies in the world and Carlos Salcido which Chelsie is interested in.

Germany because: they won all the group matches, they r capable to score a goal when it is really needed(for example the match Germany-poland), and they play like a team for them it doesn't matter the player but the team.

because they never won it before. countries who have won it before dont deserve to be chams any more. i hate argentina ever since i found out that that maradonna dude was tested positive for cocaine on one of the world cups. brazil have won it five times, and besides ronaldo looks like he on drugs too, so they dont diserve to win anymore. germany and italy are good, but they've won it 3 times already.
SPAIN TO THE FINALS!!!
i'd be happy if england wins it too.

because the team that I support (Germany) has shown that they have what it takes to win...so there...I think that Germany will win the cup because they're better prepared, have a better playing strategy...and basically they're stronger and better than the rest.
