It always annoys me that there are people prepared to give their right arm to play yet these professionals can't even be bothered to join in their national anthems. If you don't support your country why play? Dare I say money........

I don't consider not singing to be wholly disrespectful. Some might choose to focus on the game and I have no problem with that. There are other ways to show your commitment to the cause.

as long as they stand there with their hand on their chest, it means theyre supporting their country, dude. why do people always get annoyed by some minor things? theyre tryin to concentrate on the game, and the music helps them do that. they dont have to sing.
is you singing your national anthem in front of the TV before your team plays? the national team of your country is about to play, man, why aint you singing, you gotta sing instead of checking if other people are singing. gosh, dude..

Its not a matter of showing patriotism.
Its a matter of keeping focussed before the game and how each player does this is up to him. Not you.
And for some countries the players may not know the words.

it doens't matter if they sing or not...they're there to play not sing! Maybe they get nervous or something and so instead of focuing on the national anthem they prepare themselves mentally for the game...

That's stupid, most players are nervous as sh*t or just in full concentration, as for money, most of these players make more money for the soccer clubs than they do in tournanment games, a lot more!
