Well, there are many tricks to getting rid of the hiccups. One old remedy that I was taught by my grandmother still works to this day for me when I get them. Get a glass of water, or juice whatever you desire. Then bend over like you were going to touch your toes, then drink the water that way. Keep drinking till you finish, pick your head up and the hiccups should stop.

You can try a spoonful of sugar or a spoonful of peanut butter. Either sometimes works.
For me, I just stop whatever I'm doing and close my eyes to concentrate on silencing the hiccups. It usually works within thirty seconds.

Okay, this is tricky, but it works.Go up to a wall, and stand on your hands while leaning against the wall. You'll need a glass of water, too. While handstanding, drink the water. Afterwards, hold your bresth for as long as you can (still against the wall), Eventually, you'll faint, and when you wake up: no more hiccups!

when you get a fright, you take big gulps of air into your lungs. and your hiccups stops! I think it clears the liquid that's trap in your windpipe.

you might try breathing in carbon dioxide, like breathing into a paper bag,it always helped me out.supposedly it does something to your diaphram and makes your breathing go back to normal.
