The network administrator/s can view all folders on the network. If you work for a school or company MOST LIKELY they have some kind of software like "TriGEO" that can allow them to view your screen while you use it too. They may also have software that allows them to view every web page that everyone visits and when. I'm part of an IT staff and I can find all that information about a person if I want to. Most network admins don't go looking through people's stuff to find things. We aren't police; but if asked, we can get all that information.
You usually won't get hastled if you stick to news, business research, weather, and personal e-mail sites. Check your companies policy on internet useage. Its not worth knowing the temperature outside if you lose your job.

it depends on the network, the owner of the PC, and the software installed on that PC. Alot of companies now install monitoring software on their company comptuer to allow them to monitor what their employees are doing. Deleting the history does not prevent this because the program keeps its own seperate records. There are other ways to monitor activity if you are going through another server or network system, but they are more complex and usually difficult to use and get any substantial information from. It can be done, and your history really has nothing to do with it. Cookies have mroe influence than your history and even deleting all of them would not prevent people from monitoring your activity if they really want to. Unless you are on a company computer on the company network, I would not relaly worry about it at all. Those that know how to do those things do not both with small fish, they just deal with major players and monitor them for dirt on them.

This probably isn't allowed in a school/business network, but if you really want to be secure, boot up the computer with a live cd such as knoppix to circumvent any logging software that may be installed, and then use a proxy server (you could simply set up your home computer to be your proxy, or you could use a service such a tor). There is also the possibility that there is a hardware key logger, to check, look for a device between your keyboard and the computer. Remember that circumventing logs like this may result in getting fired/suspended if your are caught.

For companys yes there is a lot of software programs which allows admins and IT proffesionals to see what everyone is doing. If this is an unsecured wireless network anyone roaming on by or the neighbors can get in and see what is going on in your home network. I would secure it with WPA and a hardware firwall. This way they can't use your internet connection or look at or change your files.

If you are on a corporate network, they certainly know which sites you have been on, and may be recording your keystrokes. Go and sin no more.

you can setup a secure login on your machine and if anyone wants to spy on you they will have to provide a valid username and password.
