I definetly think he deserves it for all of the hardwork he and the entire coaching staff has done with the Sabres. He has stuck with this team and has earned this award. The other nominees are Laviolette and Tom Renney.

The same can be said about the Sabres

Once again same can be said about the sabres, Ryan Miller was a rookie goaltender and they had to deal with so many injuries throughtout their season. Briere, Connoly, Miller, Numminen, Tallinder, Kalinin, McKee. A lot of those were during the playoffs, and the team along with the coaches handled it very well and were just one game away from the finals. That definetly shows how much influence and support Lindy has for his team.

If its not Laviolette, then the award is crap. The hurricanes were predicted to finish LAST out of all NHL teams this season, and they won the Cup, thats pretty awesome. Granted preseason predictions mean very little, but going from worst to first is still pretty awesome if you ask me. A team full of no big name players wins the cup, GO CANES!!

Yes he does, but that's also because I live in Niagara Falls, close to Buffalo and a die-hard Sabres fan. He coached a team expected to finish 28th in the NHL,to prove everyone wrong and make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. He managed to put rookies in to dominate like Jason Pominville,Thomas Vanek, and Ryan Miller and many more. He has proven himself a great coach as going through injuries with so many key players and still leading them SO far and proves him so much better than any other coach in the NHL.. and btw,NO BIG NAME PLAYERS? Ok,Rod Brind'Amour isn't a big name, neither is Cory Stillman,or Martin Gerber,or Kaberle, and many more.. Nah they aren't big names. Please be quiet and know what your talking about. Sabres had barely any names.. hense we had the nickname "The Nobodies". All I can think of is Marty Biron,Chris Drury, and Teppo Numminen, that's our only big names,so please learn what your saying.

Lindy Ruff is close, but I gotta go with Laviolette. Especially with the Cole injury, and rookie goaltender. Team could have crumbled.

No, I don't think he deserves the award because of the lies he has told thoughout the playoffs. He doesn't deserve anything.
My vote definitely goes to Peter Laviolette for leading the Canes all the way to winning the Cup.

I think Lindy Ruff should get it after all the stuff he's been through this year. But the carolina coach will probley get it cause they won the cup.
