I think he's got an amazing voice. It's a bit high when he talks.
I first listened to Rush in the early 80s and still think they're brilliant. I saw them in Glasgow in 1981. WOW!
Some people can just sing that high. It's a talent. i don't think you can cultivate it.
Incidentally, Jack White's new band have a song on the album "Intimate Secretary" where I think Jack sounds very like Geddy.

I believe I did hear him speak in an ordinary voice during an interview a long time ago. I was always put off by his singing voice. I used to cringe whenever I heard him sing "today's Tom Sawyer." Thought Rush was a pretty good band, although I never had any of their albums until I bought that EP of '60s covers a couple of years ago. That's great and has voice doesn't irk me at all.

Geddy is one of the Best singers in my lifetime, I'm 35 and been listening to Rush for years. A singer practices and does voice exercises to reach the desired pitch, Once this pitch is obtained they train themselves to reach that pitch every time. Perfect pitch.
He probably speaks close to the sound of his voice in tunes, not that high but close

A one off original and so suited to and an integral part of Rush music. A similar comparison - Jon Anderson and Yes.

I think he has an original great voice and i think the lead singer from Coheed and Cambria is trying rip off Lee's voice.

He does speak like a normal guy. I am guessing voice training of some kind.

It's different, that's for sure!
Perhaps he gets together with Steve Perry of Journey, and they snort Helium together! :)
