Of course the U.S needs to look for a better coach. Though players on the U.S team such as Landon Donovan did not step-up at all in the three games the U.S played, some of this can be credited to the poor management. For the whole first round, the United States were in the wrong formation. After clearly seeing that the 4-5-1 didn't work against the Czechs, the formation should have changed and Arena should have played another striker, for this would have opened more opportunities for U.S attack.

No i don't think anyone outside the US thought that they would reach the second round. Look the FIFA Ranking system is a joke, you get the same points for beating Canada, Honduras and Ecuador that England get for beating Poland, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Germany and Holland. This seems Fair only to people in Mexico and the US. If you had been playing top European teams to qualify for the World Cup not only wouldn't you have made it but your ranking wouldn't be top 20 let alone NO4, Same goes for Mexico. Sorry if this all seems unfair but ask any knowledgeable fan and they'll tell you it's true.
I know your going to argue that the US Reached the Quarters in the last World Cup but that was always due to your high level of fitness and the playing conditions (100F +). Most European teams are just not used to playing in hot conditions and that why none of the top teams did well in Asia. (and Germany weren't a top European team at the time). Still there South Africa in four years that should be steaming hot!!

I don't think it is the problem with the head coach. The head coach cannot work magic if the players just are not as skillful as the players in other teams.

yes, but he wont so he will get fired. In my opinion right now hes in the doghouse with USA soccer fans and is possibly the most hated American right now. He wont be on the sidelines in South Africa, 4 years from now for the next world cup!

yes!
He insulted his players in the press. There is no way that could have helped moral. Plus he has no creativity in plays or lineups. Very bad coach if you ask me.

Yes, he needed to put Eddie Johnson in earlier and shake up the lines, but he didn't. In the future, if there is one for him, he needs to make better changes and decisions with his lineups.
