I feel awed every time I walk into the Circus in Bath, UK. As I live around the corner, this happens a lot.
For me, this is the most perfect example of Georgian architecture in the world - far superior to the more famous Royal Crescent (to which the Circus is joined by a short road called Brock Street). It consists of three curved crescents forming a near-perfect circle around a large roundabout on which sits a tree that appears far older than the buildings. It is a work of genius and I recommend that everyone visits it at least once. Watch out for the strange (possibly Masonic, possibly not) carvings that run around the whole structure!

I have a real passion for anything built by Inigo Jones the Banqueting House in London has perfect proportion and the interior mimicks the outside. As an architect he achieved a lot in his life time with wonderful buildings and even rooms of large houses to show for it. The Banqueting House also has good history on the Masques and Inigo has drawn beautiful examples of costume. If you have a chance he is definately an untapped resource for anyone interested in buildings. It also helps that I am a Building Surveyor, but I have a A-level History Of Art and Building Conservation degree. I hope you can look him up and see them.

My first answer was the pyramids in Geza, Egypt. I saw them, man they're huge! They're simply amazing.
As for asthetic beauty, however, in my opinion there are more beautiful buildings than the pyramids. There's the Taj Mahal and the gardens of Shalimar. Imagine such an edifice built for you to show you how much your man loves you. Wow!!!
Another is the Baha'i Temple in Delhi, India. It looks like a lotus flower and is soooo beautiful.
A building in the making will be the Baha'i Temple of Light in Santiago, Chile, with a glorious view of the Andes. Click on the link below, the presentation is really beautiful.
