The genre that fits you and that can be different for different times and places. All music has its place. Depending on your mood or where you are at depends on what would be the best at that moment. Club - R&B, Hip Hop etc. At Home w/ someone - Soul, Motown, Blues, Folk,etc. Pissed off - Rap, Metal, etc. High - Rap, Alternative, Rock, etc. Relaxing - Classical, Motown, Folk. There is a setting for all music. Music itself is the best genre.

Well in the late 60s and 70s rock..In the late 70s acid rock..In the 80s you went back to listen to the 60s,70s. Then in the 90s alternative and hard heavy metal.Now that we have bands like godsmack and disturbed its the music of this era.

"Best" depends on personal taste, mood, and what the music is being used for. My favourites are jazz, classic rock, classical, and world/roots, depending on those factors.
But no matter the genre, live music is best!

Rock!!, but you will love a song not for the genre, it will be because it is what you need to hear in certain moment.

I would say ROCK like ne type or form of it. Alt. rock, "emo", a whole bunch of rock man! I like loud music it has real emotions!! I only listen to like one rap artist that'd be eminem. Other wise rap aint my thing really. Also i can't stand country. except some of the dixie chix songs they are all right!
