The reason why fat isnt pretty is because is a product of an unhealthy lifestyle. If thats how you look on the outside it most likely shows that you're lazy, so people assume you're boring. Also if people are really fat it shows they dont care enough about there own life so why would they care about anyone or anything else. Being fat makes it harder to keep up with proper hygene. My armpits can get sweaty, a fat persons whole body gets sweaty because they have pits everywhere from all the folded skin. I also think being too skinny is nasty. Its also unhealthy when people are too skinny. I guess It depends on what FAT means to you. Are you talking 300 pounds or just being pleasantly plump, or Valuptuious.

Humans are visual creatures. Most don't need the media or fashion mags to tell them what they REALLY do and do not find visually appealing. Fat for many isn't pretty. That doesn't reflect on the type of person one is (fat or not). There are quite a few people who find some extra pounds to be attractive and some who even prefer the obese look. I personally don't find fat to be "pretty", and I've been fat. Cottage cheese thighs, belly sticking out, 'wings' hanging off my arms, and 2 chins weren't the least bit physically attractive to my eyes. Fat is also generally unhealthy (especially if it's excessive). If someone chooses to be fat and is happy that way, that is their right...but I personally have met very few who would look at other fat people and say/think "woo hoo, there goes a hottie".

its not that fat is automatically ugly, its grotesquely obese that is ugly, because barring rare diseases, it comes from a general lack of care for ones self and how you treat your body. Its hard to believe that in todays day and age people haven't accepted that regular exercise and a healthy diet shouldn't just be things you read about in magazines or see on tv, they should be a part of everyday life for everyone. The sad part is, is that society is seeing these people as victims of fast food chains and giant corporations that are somehow brainwashing them or eliminate healthier alternatives.

Fat is pretty to many..don't let Hollywood's image of beauty get you down, look around you...fat women grab up all the men
I cannot count how many fat women i see with really good looking men at the mall...so just don't let the media's concept skew your image

It is simply the media's ideal beautiful being portrayed. Its like... if you dont look like what the media is portraying as beautiful then you somehow arent pretty. But i asure you that although alot think like this, there are still alot who dont think like this. Just because beauty seems to be said to be one thing, doesnt mean that people who are a little bigger arent beautiful. Ill tell you, beauty comes from the inside and shines out to show people who you are, our bodies are but shells. Without someone real inside, what good is a body anyway.

fatness doesn't matter it matters what's on the inside seriously the only thing i don't like is this country the USA is getting fatter by the minute we need to lose weight as a country :) i need to spread this around i hate being the fattest country on earth >:(

to a large degree it's simply cultural (though the health & activity level could have a little bit to do with it too). Just like we think shaved legs on women are prettier, etc.

I don't get it either. Confidence is what matters, I've seen bigger women who are absolutely gorgeous....and they present themselves that way. Why get caught up in the superficial world? Just get to a point where you are happy with yourself.... Not everyone likes skinny girls, and not everyone likes fuller girls. Everyone is different.
