OK, this sounds kind of gross but it is actually the best stuff you can use to get rid of scars. I cant remember what it is called but its the slime that comes from snails. You can buy it from the Internet. It costs a lot, but its worth it if you have any nasty embarrassing scars. I've never used it but a long time ago I did research on the healing factors of animals. In my research I Kept running into web pages about snails. Now, years later, I see that they're selling snail slime as a beauty product. Its suppose to fade stretchmarks, aging spots, wrinkles and even old scars. Just get on-line and type in Healing factors of snails to get more info.

I had plastic surgery on a horrible looking 6 inch scar, across the middle of my stomach, left behind from a surgery I had at birth. The doctor told me to rub in, applying a bit pressure, cocoa butter and vitamin E everyday to smooth out the scar. The scar, although still six inches, now is a thin line without lumps or discoloration. Also he told me to keep away from the sun for a year which also causes discolorations.

I don't know if it's the best, but when my mother-in-law had a lumpectomy the surgeon told her to use Palmer's cocoa butter. It really did help soften the scar and make it less noticeable.

mederma is supposed to be good, but it's kind of expensive for the little tube they give you. coco butter is supposed to help soften scars and it's a whole lot cheaper.
