im sick of excuses, its time for bruce arena to go even as beloved as he is in american soccer circles, we need someone to take this team to the next level. im sick to death of hearing how landon donovan is all that, he gets a free kick from just outside the box and where does he kick it to? closer to the crowd than anywhere else. if eddie johnson is so good, why didnt he play more? im tired of the american hype machine telling everyone how good america is gonna be and then we score what? 1 goal????? how pathetic is that? and give up 6 goals? i rest my case.............................

to be honest, other than the czech game, the USA played up to their level. i've watched every US game, all the announcers are saying how donovan didn't show up... but its because he does not have that much skill. how do you think donovan compares to someone like essein or nedved or totti? hes not that good.

arena also made a huge mistake with beasley, it is not beasleys fault that he did not have a good world cup (he did have that nice pass for that lone US scored goal). Arena made a big mistake by moving beasley to the wrong side, he made a mistake not starting eddie johnson. Arena must take the majority of blame for this world cup. some players could have played better but overall, they played as well as they could, they just couldn't take on those teams. arena was out strategized, teams played well against the US

but realistically, the US is not good enough for the world cup they got a bit lucky with italy (the own goal) and really hasn't played at all well enough to get passed to group stage, not even well enough to deserve to win a game. they did have fouls go against them, but that happens to every team.

They were slow. They had no drive. They didn't capitalize on their chances. Their plays seemed to do no good. The star players, basically didn't even show up. I think the USA needs to get a new coach, Arena, never made a good decision the entire world cup. He made bad decisions, on players, and everything else. I hope he gets fired and we get a new coach that actually knows something about the sport. USA also had some bad incidences with the refs but that's really no excuse. The final line is that the team needs play with a little more heart, a little more spirit, and a little more drive and actually do something in 2010.

I think players such as Donovan should have stepped it up. they didn't live up to the hype but it's not a 100% their fault. no i'm not going to blame the refs even though they are pretty bad, but i think the USA needs better training, meaning more friendlies against the top teams in the world not against T&T and what not. Arena if he stays needs to get his players focused and keep their health and conditioning up. The USA also needs to find top scores (i.e. KEEP BOBBY CONVEY IN LONGER!!) and maybe Taylor Twellmen will be ready to play in the next world cup and leave Landon Donovan at home

I thought Bruce Arena was a horrible coach, and only caused the US team to have no chemistry. They came out and got outplayed by the Checks, then they blamed it on each other. The second game was a hard fought tie against Italy, but the game was marred by a horrible ref. Finally the US team just could not keep up with the speed of Ghana's game, and lost 2-1. Kasey Keller proved to me that he is not as good as he once was, and should have been beched after the 1st game in favor of Tim Howard. Overall a poor performance by The US team in this years World Cup.

Their First game set the stage for the rest of their world cup Adventure.
They were not adventurist enough in that opening game. Even the USA coach seemed bored and was seen watching the crowd rather than the Match. They never seemed to play as a Whole team, they looked tired, and never seemed to have any pace. The Draw against Italy was the Best game for me. So anyhow someone has to lose.

FIFA obviously did not want the U.S. to advance by putting them in the same group with the czech republic and italy, so i'm not to surprised at all. I really wish we could have scored more than 1 real goal (goal against italy was an own goal) I really hope next world cup team includes freddy adu and eddie johnson both starting on the wings, that would be a tough to match up against.

I thought it was very mediocre, and that bad start didn't help. In the 1st game not only did the players look shaky but so did Bruce Arena. All throughout the tournament they didnt play their best. I have seen them play much better. Plus the referees poor calls and judgement didnt help but we cant blame it all on them. USA just didnt play up to there ability or expectations. maybe in 2010 when we probably have Freddy Adu.

TAYLOR TWELLMAN!!! shoud have brought him...you leave the guy who scored all those goals for us in the qualifiers and prelims and friendlies and then play 1 forward???....McBride plays in a 4-4-2, as does almost everyone on that team...so let's teach a new formation where we don't get goals....and even w/ 5 midfielders we let everyone through???...come on....goodbye Arena and good ridence...quit complaining about the players and take it on your shoulders..brought the wrong players, set up the wrong formation, and didn't focus on trying to score a goal until there's 30 minutes left in the tournament for us...

They've are so overrated by the media as the best team the US ever assembled. They've let down the hope of its loyal fans. They've wasted 4 years of preparation leading up to this World Cup.
I think it's time for Bruce Arena to depart. We could've done better than this.

nagurski3 ...why answer this question if you have no feedback!!!!!! I think USA had the worst group of all the groups. This was the group of death!!! It was a very tough group and I do think USA could have done a little better if it wasnt for the bad ref's on the italy game and this game! They could have had the italy game won and this tied! that could have gotten them enough points to take them for the next round. Usa has a good team but the ref's have been against the us since the italy game.
thanks
