I came across my name on an internet family tree site. I NEED it removed because this is not my real family. This was my mothers second husbands family, and they put my name on it as his children. Which of course I am not. I DISPISE this man and am ashamed that I am on his ****** up family's family tree. I have emailed the email address on there SEVERAL times to no avail. He will not answer, or it is an old email address. I have also emailed the maker of the website, which they say they are not responsible for the content, and that the person who made it can only remove it. I am at my wits end about what to do and I am really frustrated. Please, if anyone can help me as to how I can get my name of this tree, I would SO greatly appreciate it. At this point I am wanting to hire an attorney and file suite, but I just want it deleted of there. He didn't have my permission to put my name on the interenet, and I am furious!!!! What will it take??

yeah, i have tried all of these things to no avail! This family is whacked, I am telling you, I don't want no part of this family tree thing...i just want it removed. This family is full of scandle and its something you would hear about in movies...its crazy...

Why you so peeved? It aint like anyone ever looks at this crap! I bet there have only been 8 people in the whole world that have viewed it and 6 of them were YOU!

if you put the url to the page maybe we can help you. what i'm thinking is if i know where his site is hosted maybe contacting the host will help get him to talk to you or at the very least get him to remove it. it's a long shot but you never know until you try.
he has freedom of speech on his side if he lives in the united states. so don't get too crazy with him or he can tell you to go jump and you won't be able to stop him.
remember you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. so be nice til it's down then tell him to go soak his head.

The only recourse you have is to contact the person who put the tree on-line. They would have to make the change.
This isn't the sort of thing you can file a lawsuit over.

Contact the person who put it there. Usually there is an email addy beside the entry. Or look at bottom of article for the contact person's addy and email them
