It's appointed unto man, once to die then judgment. When you die, God will judge you by His Ten Commandments. Have you told a lie, stolen anything, used God's name in vain, disobeyed your parents? If you are guilty of breaking God's commandments on judgment day you will be sent to Hell. God provided a way for you to avoid Hell and spend an Eternity with Him in Heaven. Jesus Christ died on a cross and rose again in order to take your punishment and pay the debt for your sins. To take part in His gift of forgiveness you MUST Repent, which means to ask forgiveness and turn from your sins, then put your complete Trust in Jesus Christ. Only then will you be accepted into Heaven, not because your a good person, but because your a bad person who's been forgiven.

Forget all that hellfire, and dammnation crap. When we die, it is our rebirth into Heaven. Not sad,but a very happy occasion. As I'm sure our rebirth on Earth is like a death in Heaven. Faith is good but it's better to have an idea. Ideas can be changed, but faith, that's a little trickier. And I'm not of the belief that you should repent repent repent every second of the day, if you are doing that much bad stuff then chances are you're going to "hell" anyway because I would think that hypocrisy would be one of God's biggest petpeeves. If you are going to follow any of God's rule's, follow them all, lest you be a hypocrite. So therefore, do not judge others about the transportation they are using to get to the Lord, rejoice that they are indeed getting there. Until you can learn to forgive, you can never be forgiven!

in nature nothing is lost, nothing is gained, all is transformed.
when i die i will be burried, and my body will be reclaimed by the earth, to feed the living things around me. my dead body will be metabolized into living cells again, and i will be part of an insect maybe, or a flower, or a tree. these will be eaten by little cute creatures, and my body will be metabolized into a small part of a bunny or a bird. they in turn will live, then die and their matter and my own will again be changed into something else.
now, if you're talking about my "spirit", it will be mostly gone. part of it will live on for a generation or two, remembered by those who knew me, and then available only to anyone who is determined enough to do some serious digging into things like old q&a records lost in servers long burried in dust.

Once upon a time fishinforsouls met iamisabaddon (above). It was love at first sight.

Do you take the (person?) to have and to hold from this day forth? Speak now or forever hold your peace. You may now kiss the (person?).

Whose got the rice? I hope you live happily ever after.

Your flesh decays-your soul is with God ,Not necessarily in heaven,[as a saved person] but at peace in the father -awaiting judgement

I think PHYSICAL death is similar to the metamorphosis process caterpillars go through. As far as personality /soul survival goes, I would wish to have mine intact, as I would be one more step closer to God-- and be aware of it. But I think the soul (of the body) would probably go through another immediate phase similar to rebirth with more lessons to learn in the spiritual realm than just step in 'the pearly gates'.

My body parts will be given to those who need them, what’s left I hope will be clean enough to make good fertilizer.
My spirit will live on in those who remember me and will spread through the universe to become part of everything.
