First, no I'm not the current wife, I'm the ex-wife and a close friend. He was investigated and cleared by the sheriff's department for something that was being done at his home and had to move in with his in-laws. The deputy involved wants to lock him up anyway and they are using that to try to make him come back.

No, there are laws against keeping someone captive, which is what forcing an adult to live where he doesn't want to live would be.

Law enforcement of any type cannot make that sort of order to anyone. Legally the man has a right to live where he wants, so the answer would be no.
