Gamespy has interactive multiplayer games.
Or you can even try http://www.there.com and join for free. Its an interactive game but they have fun games like paintball and skating.
There are few free online interactive games like http://www.cityofheroes.com or http://www.matrixonline.com I think both are free but you are limited with certain things. Matrix is cool if you liked the movie The Matrix.
