This is only my opinion but I think hugs is probably as physical as you should be with just friends.
When my husband passed away, our best friend, who was single, continued to visit and be friends with me for a year. Then ask if we could be more than just friends and now we are married.
So just don't do anything that might ruin your friendship if one of you had second thoughts about what you do.

I believe a hug and a kiss on the cheek is alright, but not too often like several times a day.
