generally you have to be 21. Some states require you to take a course to carry a concealed weapon. Then the max most states can charge for the permit fee is $100. Check out the website, it has all the info, by state about different laws regarding carrying a concealed weapon.

In Florida you have to be fingerprinted , about $10 (Local police department) also a passport- like picture about $10 , you have to have an 8 hour safety course, about $50, and your application through Department of Agriculture (Yes , DOA in Florida) will cost about $170 , plus they do a very thorough background check on you.

Tip: go to a Gun Show when it comes to your area, they usually have packages that include everything, but the State Fee you cant get out of.

Gun permit? do you mean concealed carry permit? If you mean concealed carry, it depends on what state you live in. Chances are though you have to be 21, you have to go to a weekend long class about shooting, and you have to fire your firearm and have to hit the target a certain number of times, you can't have a felony or domestic abuse charges on your record, there are also a few other things you can't have on your record. If you mean gun permit, You don't have to have a permit to own a gun. Just have to be 21 and have no felonies.

It depends on your state. www.packing.org has a listing where you can sort by state or by non-resident permits.
