Come on people, what is it that makes usa not so great at soccer and our fans not so excited as the other countries. I couldn't even find an english radio station covering the game this morning....

Soccer isnt big in USA...in other countries soccer is the only sport they have got...Americans have lots of sports football...baseball...golf...tennis...basketball...soccer in the other countries are like etched in the blood...and it reflects it...the USA didnt win i think because 1) small amount of fans compared to other countries 2) too many mistakes...they really tried at the end...3) there wasnt enough pressure on them...they didnt have a countries weight on there shoulder but only a percentage... but it was time to give some spotlight to other countries besides the USA...ghana was the last team for africa...AND THEY BEAT AND TOOK OUT A POWERHOUSE...i am disappointed that the USA lost but also happy that Ghana won...

No one cares because soccer is incredibly tedious-I watched one game just to see what the fuss was about and after 90 minutes it ended 1-0. Some games end 0-0, England and Sweden ended 2-2. I'd rather watch someone whittle a stick on a rainy day than watch that stupid white ball bouncing back and forth while players writhe on the ground after getting brushed by another player's sleeve.

We have too many other sports that other nations do not have where our better athletes go: baseball, basketball, and football.
The sport also has a much different mind set than other American sports do. Baseball is a very strategic game; all about matchups and tendencies, and is often referred to as the "thinking man's game." Football is both very strategic and very intense; playbooks for most teams are hundreds of pages. Soccer is essentially a bunch of guys running around trying to put a ball in a net behind a bunch of other guys trying to stop them, where players feign death if they're tripped.
If you accept it for what it is, it's enjoyable, but Americans prefer our own sports.

the U.S. should be better with its population size and because we are the greatest melting pot in society. We could field a team with players from every great soccer nation. I think its funny how players may be representing a country in the world cup but actually live and play in a different country altogether

Because the USA is too scared in taking soccer more seriously. They might not be as good in sports no one cares about except Americans such as football or baseball.
