i dont know how to ask this but for example Jane and John are identical twins with a lot of physical similarities and differences eg one is male / othe is female etc.

You could say that the twins are 'analogous'- that is, similar in some ways, and dissimilar in others.

You have several words, some of them are: SIMILAR, ANALOGOUS, PARALLEL, ALIKE mean closely resembling each other.
SIMILAR implies the possibility of being mistaken for each other .
ANALOGOUS applies to things belonging in essentially different categories but nevertheless having many similarities .
PARALLEL suggests a marked likeness in the development of two things .
ALIKE: having qualities in common

Not that I'm aware of, so you might have to take some etymological license, and coin something new. How about "parasimilar"?
