I am traveling to TX for a business meeting but decided to leave early and enjoy my week. I cannot seem to locate places or things to do in Dallas. My hotel is in Plano minutes away from Dallas. Please tell me things I can do and good bars I can go to - anything excited and hype.
Is there any baseball games this weekend? Where can I go to just socialize and network?

The Frisco Roughriders are playing in town this weekend. (Frisco is just north of Plano.)
As for bars in and around Plano (assuming you don't want the 20+ minute drive to downtown Dallas), check out:
- Plano Tavern
- Various bars in Addison (just south of Plano) including Sherlocks, Logans, Duke's Roadhouse, Carson's
- Obzeet is a funky outdoor bar w/ live music
- Love * War in Texas is a fun restaurant/bar - music is Texas/country
If you're willing to make the drive downtown, GhostBar just opened in the W (also just opened). It should have a good "scene". You could also try just about any bar along McKinney Avenue. And if you don't like one, you can walk next door or across the street to another.
By the way, there are fantastic restaurants in Dallas and Plano. Check guidelive.com, go to restaurants, and do a search. The ones listed as a 'guide pick' are generally awesome.

The Texas Rangers are playing today but unfortunately, they will be in Colorado this coming weekend.
Try the Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie for Thoroughbred Horse Racing.

Don't forget the Needless Markup (Neiman Marcus) flagship store and Six Flags over Texas in Arlington. You could even try to wiggle your way onto the Dallas Cowboy Golf Course in Irving.

If you want to go to a baseball game check to see if Frisco is in town. Double-A team for the Rangers, very close to Plano. If you want to just go out, West End near dowtown is cool, Lower Greenville, Deep Ellum... all you can find online.
