The other day Yahoo had a server down. Many people here in the United States could not use Messenger or log onto their email for a very long period of time. I felt like I was going to loose my mind. Many other people I talked to felt the same way. What do you think would happen if every single coumputer in the whole wide shut down?

I will probably do something I havent done in 15 years.

Probably read a book =O

It would totally suck though. I spend almost 99% of my time on the computer, so if all the computers crashed, I wouldnt know what to do with myself. I would probably just punch the keys on the keyboard since I would be in state of denial at first. Then I would probably read a book (computer related). And then I would kill the person who caused all the computers to crash =)

There would be a new meaning to the word boredom.

I would also get a gun in case theres a riot. If all computers crashed, then that means banks systems crashed. If banks crashed, then no ATM. No ATM means no cash. No cash means no food and no water.....which would lead to a world riot.

If all computers crashed, the United States would go from a world power to a third world class country overnight. Everything that we do depends on computers in some way. Even our cars are run my computer chips. There have been many movies made addressing this exact problem. I think that a lot of people would freak out not because they could not use the internet or computers or anything like that, but because a lot of people would be out of a job seeing as their positions depend on the use of computers. As far as I am concerned, it would just mean that I would have to go back to doing things the old fashioned way and just adjust to the new world that would be created by the death of all computer technology.

Due to Forrest fire, I was forced to live without electricity or phone or running water for 3 years. I was 45 minutes away from the nearest town, and it's newspaper carried ONLY local news.

I found it refreshing and, yes, I did learn to read again. Each week my husband and I read 10-12 books.
There was a certain stress at first, but after the stress eased away, we were actually sorry when my husband's job required us to move back to town.
Now, I'm reconnected.....Some days I wish I was not.

When you say ALL the computers, you would mean that all water companies, electric companies, and all other public services were down.
Well, living in the woods without any services was pretty close, but we could still get gas for the truck, etc....So, it wasn't as if ALL computers were down, but pretty close.
It was empowering to learn that we could live without them.
It was also nice to be without National or World news...

MOve on with life,
internet and computer are not the only things to do.
I would talk to friends, go out, play soccer. God gaves a wide world to enjoy. So why waist time with internet when you can enjoy the fresh air outside?

Now you know what addiction is like. I would hope that we'd all get some ole time flavor back in our lives for a little while......
By associating with others......in our lives, and enjoying the very simple things as well. But we all know that these little interruptions is just that. Things get fixed and return to what's considered "NORMAL" by today's standards. tsk, tsk.......
And life goes on.......

We would be pretty hard pressed to conduct business, it would cripple the economy or at least put a huge dent in it. The ripple effect would be noticeable!

I'd click my heels, do a little dance, and hope the $h!t couldn't ever come back up.

Maybe we'd get back to some sensible kind of planetary living.

Damn, I wouldn't lose my mind over email. That is just ridiculous. I would probably read a book or exercise.
