Because you give so much away through them.
I bet who ever said that had to be talking about a female, because women are the only ones with the eyes to enspire such poetry.
Some eyes are dead and tell nothing of the soul witch lies beneth, but....
I can see in some women's eye's and I can tell what theyr thinking, nothing specific mind you, but a general idea of whats happening inside them.
I love women!!!!!!

I personallly do not believe that eyes are windows to the soul. There are too many psychopathic personalities among society today. Also, many people believe those who "shift" their eyes a lot are nervous or hiding something. Today, that can be a sign of attention problems (cuz ya know, everyone is ADD nowadays LOL)
I suppose someone without manipulative psychosis and no attention deficit problems would be easy to read by looking into the eyes. hee hee

It is so not true that women are the only ones with eyes that inspire poetry...I wrote a poem just about my boyfriend's eyes, actually, called Eye Candy 'cause his eyes are beautiful chocolatey coffee brown...
"...Caffeinated carnal cravings
percolating in hot morning coffee looks:
penetrating gazes from
exotical
erotical
eyes."
LOL I know you wanted to read that excerpt...(shameless self promotion). Anyway our eyes really do give away a lot of what we are feeling and thinking...think how amazingly beautiful and expressive and alive eyes really are and you will see why people say that!

Cause eyes can give you away.........they tell the truth and they can't lie.......nowadays the lying detectors focuses on your eyes (pupils), and your impulse...to see if you're telling the truth or not....it only makes sense that the eye is the window to your soul

Because usually you can tell how sincere a person is by looking in their eyes. You can also usually tell if they are lying to you or hiding something from you too.

You can see many things in a peoples eyes, its called non verbal communication.

reaction when they lie and look sincere at the same time i would assume it is they who make up these things
