I think AFI is better than Green Day because Green Day is more "pop". That's just my preference, though.

green day are now a little "look at us we're better than you" band and its getting on my nerves and their old stuff sounds waaaaaaaaay better

They both been around about the same time, but Green Day has the most exposure. I don't know but I choose Green Day.

wow, this is a deep question! ummm... i can't say i like either, but i'd probably have to choose green day because at one point (long, long ago, when they still toured with Rancid, Destroy, Grimple, etc) they were semi-good, while AFI has been entirely emo the whole time.

AFI. Nothing against Greenday though, but I"m more drawn to AFI's dark lyrics(STS, AOD, DU) and the sound and atmosphere in their songs.

if i HAD to choose, probably AFI. i personally dont like green day.

I prefer Green Day. They are NOT pop! They have just melowed out because they've matured a lot, they've been around a while.
They define Punk, well at least when they got started they did. Brain Stew anyone?
