The term juggernaut is used to describe any literal or metaphorical force regarded as unstoppable that will crush all in its path. The word is derived from the Sanskrit word Jagannātha, meaning "Lord of the universe." It literally applies to this character as he is virtually unstoppable and would crush anything in his path.

a juggernaut is a being of incredible force.
it's rather like why marie calls herself rouge.
stan lee has a wild imagination, but he always used names that were very suitable for the characters.
by the way X-# screwed up this story line badly. first of all the Juggernaut is professor X's step brother (in the comic) and he isnt really a mutant, he was given his super powers with an amulet.
and jen grey becomes Phoenix b/c of the Phoenix force possesing her, not b/c she evolved, or was some incredibly powerful mutant.
she sacrifices herhelf anfter the phoenix force causes her to wipe out an entire galaxy b/c she fears what she might do if she continues to live, and later you find out that there is an even bigger twist that is so friggin' complicated i dont have time to explain it.
anyone else ticked that Gambit wasnt in any of these movies or that rogue was a teenager, or that she never met ms marvel and aquires the power of super strength and flight?
