maybe because historically, they were not allowed to do those kinds of things and women who did attempt to invent stuff, paint or design were either dismissed or had to pretend to be men. tradition has a big impact and because of that maybe women are not as motivated to try?also the women that do might find it harder to get their stuff published...in the u.k there are NO female heads of national arts companies and only about 7% of publishing house heads are female. Also men may not like to acknoweldge that there are women cleverer than them, and therefore do not want to use/consume inventions etc by females.

Invention particularly requires focus and commitment that takes the inventor away from people. Women are more focussed on and satisfied in finding their identity in relationships so we don't sacrifice that as easily as men do. We're just motivated differently.

There are plenty of women designers and artists!

There are at least the same number as men. Unfortunately we don't get the same credit. Men are often supported (by women) so they can (hopefully) make a living someday. It's more difficult to be a "famous artist" when you're making a living and raising a family. Women are superior, but still have to sleep sometime!

I have heard a theory, wish i could reference it, that women lose the focus/desire to create after having a baby... but until then it should be an even playing field...

some of it can probably be chalked up to natural biases in the system... buti i think/hope that it is all changing... i work in the design field and nbot only is my boss female.. but many of my classmates were and many of my contemporaries are... so i think that is slowly but surely changing... and that's a good thing

Art is a visual pleasure.

Men are driven by their vision. This makes them seek to take what they see as beautiful and record it. Additionaly, we have lived in a patriotical society until recently.

Even with this change women have undertaken, we still don't have the desire to capture what we see as beautiful ... also with this revolution, men are freeded to see, and capture more female skin. So, woman are the object of art instead of the creators of art ...

I've asked many of my female artist friends why they don't spend as much time as the man revering the male body ... and I usually get the responce, "Man's Body's are OUT" .(not fashionable) ... that's bizzaro to me since I think that the man's body is so much more spectaculare than woman's fat blubbery bodies ... but I guess fashion is fashion!!!

Because worldwide, it's still a relatively new concept that a woman can be more than a baby mill. Even though it's been a few generations in some of the more contemporary cultures, education and upbringing still rely alot on tradition and tradition says that girls don't concern themselves with 'that' sort of thing.

Because Women tell there husbands or boyfriends or friends the answers and men take the credit. Did you know the deadliest group in Iraq are women. They tell these men that if they commit suicide then they will get 10 of the virgin women in the group. But little do the men know that these women will still be on earth and they will be dead..... HA HA

Because many female only have time to look cute, fix hair and nails, and chase men instead of thinking about the next invention. On the other hand men like to experiment and try to put things together.

Ther are many creative women but it seem more numerous in men. there is a price to pay for this i think it may have something to do with autism. boys are 4 times more likely to have autism. some speculate geniuses like albert einstein suffered from asperger's syndrom which is a high functioning form of autism.

the feminist movement didnt happen until the 60's befor then women were not allowed to do much in public but if you look in history and do a little back ground you will find that alot of women used a male name to the public or got there brother or husband to publicize things for them.
