I went to Bangor and loved every minute. I would love to go back there to work even now.
I can't comment on Staffs obviously but Bangor is a fantastic university, small enough to be friendly but large enough to be good. It is only a small town so if you're looking for a nightlife with a choice of 20 nightclubs and 72 pubs then don't go. What it does have (it's changed a bit since I left of course) are maybe 2 good nightclubs which cater for all tastes, a good selection of pubs and bars, a small but good shopping centre and easy access to other towns, plus of course very easy access to the the coast and the Snowdonia! Remember that the limited nightlife often means you make closer friends and learn to appreciate what you do have.
I attended Edinburgh university for a second degree when I was 25 and hated every moment. It had all the components that Bangor didn't have and I honestly think, that as a mature student, you won't need them. There were a few mature students at Bangor and they fitted in better than those at Edinburgh.
I would recommend Bangor to anyone. The talk of nightclubs may not be your scene but I feel I have to mention it as the only students that left Bangor by choice, blamed the nightlife.

Stoke is a horrible town - feels like it's dying - (no offense to Stoke people out there, I'm sure you're all lovely!). Now the industry is gone, all you have is a group of little towns clutched together under the title of 'Stoke on trent'. And there's a big road that splits the city in two. The uni has a good campus, but there's nothing else around it.
I've never been to Bangor, but given how awful Stoke is, I'd say go there.

Damn you, I spent a while answering this question & then you pulled it before I could finish :O)
OK ........ what did I say???
I'd opt for Bangor as from my friends that went to it, I remember it being alot of fun, where as a lot of the guys who went to Staffs were 'live-at-home' students and so the social make-up was quite different. Although Staffs have just aquired £1,000,000 worth of funding.
Also, Bangor is linked to a well established Red Brick Uni - Bath .... that should have some accademic and social benefits!
Check out the living costs for the area, guy/girl ratio and how close to campus you'd be able to live.

Go Singapore for studies. They have affilated proggrams by University of Wales.
You would not require IELTS, not much bank balance and no age limit. Fees are also much more less than UK. Think about this....
