No.

Any non-native student of English will be taught that the most important exceptions to the rules on use of adverbs is after verbs such as 'feel', 'look', or 'seem'.

In James Brown's song, the adjective 'good' doesn't describe the manner in which he feels; it describes the pornoun 'I'. The same can be said of sentences such as 'She looks angry' (not angrily) and 'He seems approachable'.

The 'well' in, 'I am very well, thank you,' is actually a specialised use for health - but starting slowly to become less used.

In the context of the song, "I feel good" is used correctly. Feel is a linking verb, and thus, it can be used alongside an adjective in some situations.

Both phrases ("I feel good" and "I feel well") are viable statements; however, they have different meanings. "I feel good" denotes that one is happy. It refers to a person's emotional state. "I feel well" refers to someone's health or physical well-being.

In his song, Mr. Brown is expressing happiness due to finding love; he is not making a statement about his physical health. Therefore, "I feel good" is appropriate in this case.

No it is not. Song lyrics are, like poetry, not subject to the same grammatical rules that prose is.

Yes. The song should say "I feel well"

it would probably go something like this

I feel well
and I think I should tell now
I feel nice
like sugar and spice
I feel well
I feel well
I got you!!!!

Songwriters are allowed to take artistic licence with grammar. "I feel well" just doesn't have the same ring to it as "I feel good".

Depends on whether you are talking about your health or whether you are describing what others will feel when they touch you.

Considering the context in which that phrase occurs, yes. It should be "well."
