It wasn't the right choice. Didn't Parcells say if you ask him to cook you should let him shop for the groceries. Zeke made this mess with all of his bonehead moves. He needs to sit down with Joe Dumars. Now that's an NBA executive who knows how to run a team (Pistons).
Isiah fired Brown and as president and general manager named himself as the replacement. I guess Thomas figures he'll do what Pat Riley did. He's no Chuck Daily!

It was the absolute bad choice. The Knicks are up against the cap so they cannot make any moves. And the only relief they had in sight was players that were about to end contracts and no longer count against them cap wise and what does Isiah Thomas do? He trades those players that will give the Knicks cap relief for Steve Francis.
The Knicks have a lot of talent on their team. Unfortunatley for the Knicks that talent lies in lazy, uncoachable players like Marbury. Every team that Marbury has played for was worse when he was there then they were before is arrival and after he left, is that a coincidence? Teams that win are not selfish, the play together well and they respect their coach. (Pistons and Heat are good examples of this). This Knicks team is a collection of selfish gaurds that care more about their stats and money than the team. This is all thanks to Thomas. In my oppinion this team will neve win unless Thomas is fired and they start from scratch in terms of players.
Brown was trying to find players that would play the right way, team ball. He made lineup changes and rotation changes but you can't make gold out of lead.

The Knicks had to know what they were getting into when they hired Brown as their head coach. His track record across the league is well known. He has always had a penchant for putting down players and causing controversy. It happened in Detroit. It happened in Indiana. It happened in Philadelphia. And it was happening in New York. Big surprise! With that being said, they really should have given him more than just 1 year to turn things around. Yes, he can be a major pain. But, he is also a proven winner. Now the Knicks are saddled with having to pay off Brown's monster contract. And good luck with Thomas as coach. I wouldn't expect much in the way of improvement next year.

Yes, this definitely was the right choice for the storied Knicks organization. They needed a new voice for their players since Larry Brown had lost his players. The squabbles and arguments throughout last season's horrendous 82 games for the Knicks led to this. Brown did not get along with his players and with his constant changing of the lineup, players lost confidence and belief in his system. With a record of 23-59, it was the Knicks' worst record in franchise history so Isaiah Thomas had to do what was necessary. Once you lose your players' faith in you, it's over. Now we'll just wait and see how the Knicks respond to a Isaiah.

The Knicks are a joke. They should of fired Isiah as GM and kept Brown as coach. Isiah is the dumbass who put that stupid team together. If anyone needs a old washed up guard, the Knicks have plenty of them.

I don't think it'll make much of a difference. The best thing for them will be coming in last place again and getting the #1 pic in the draft, then trading 2 veterans stars for a younger star so they could make the playoffs by 2008. Them winning more games this year will do nothing but hurt their draft position in 2008.

Isiah was terrible with Indiana, he never really seemed like he gave it his best. Just another rich athelete trying to cross into coaching, give me a hungry coach every time.

No. Loved Zeke as a player, but as a coach he leaves something to be desired.
