Put a bay leaf or two in each storage tub, this will eliminate the mustiness and keep any bugs away. Also put in a fabric dryer sheet, they can be bought at a dollar store and it is a cheap way to keep that just washed freshness to them.

See if you can get your hands on some of those silica packets or something similar that will absorb and moisture that may build up in the bins. The moisture condensing out of the air inside the bin is what makes your clothing smell musty. I would suggest though, if you do not want to get somethign to add to the bins to absorb moisture or cannot find anything. Just buy some of those vacuum sealing bags. They will keep the moisture down because there is not any air inside for the moisture to be in. Thus when you take the clothing out, it will not be musty.

I used to live on the east cost. what i did was put my clothes in storage bins with downy dryer sheets.....they shouldn't get musty, unless you are storeing them in basement.....no good idea........i now use a closet for winter wear, with moth balls. or ceder chips, with holes in plastic bag. since iam in the mtns. now i have no problem.....but downy sheets will do the job. or ceder in a bag.

I put cedar block or some cedar chips on my storage tubs. That seems to work.
