when I asked a question he responed by saying "i don't give a a **** what you do" or by doubting my abilities when i never was trained

Sounds like this isn't a very nice place to work at anyway. Nobody has the right to treat you that way. Maybe this is the last thing you needed inorder to pick up your heals and run. Leave that dump, and find a better place with nicer people.

It's a good thing to get out of that kind of environment. You did the right thing.

You know, you can sue and probably win. You have grounds for hostile work enviroment and/or forced termination. You might even win with a simple harassment suit.

The important thing here is that you should not have been pushed around like that. Nobody should have to work with people like that.

As others have noted, chain of command rules in most business situations: give your supervisor your resignation in writing; it's also nice to hand it to them if possible and tell them why you're leaving and thank them for the opportunity. You can copy the Big Boss on the letter - put that "cc" at the bottom of the letter so the supervisor knows. But you can also jot a personal "thanks" to the Big Boss on her/his copy. Class shows. Show class.
